This painting was an absolute joy to create on so many levels. The inspiration came from a photo I took while marshaling for Kevin VanDam on the Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He caught a bass using a frog lure, and the picture I took of him revealed the perfect hookset. I incorporated many details from that moment to bring the scene to life, ensuring the energy and excitement of the catch were palpable. The painting also captures the way the bass's movement and the frog lure draw the viewer's attention, making it a dynamic and engaging piece.
